David Greenwood Retires

Dedicated Partner retires after 40 years of service

At the end of September we bid a sad farewell to our Partner David Greenwood as he retired after a very precise 40 years with the firm. Whether the 40 years exactly is by accident or on purpose, David isn't sharing.

David joined Whitehead & Aldrich back in 1982 after beginning his accounting career in Blackburn as an articled clerk at Waterworth Rudd and Hare before going on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in 1980.

Over his tenure David has supported many owner-managed businesses across the North West and has even seen several from their beginning to their owner's retirement. After becoming partner in 1988 he started supporting and encouraging several generations of younger members of the team. He will be sorely missed by everyone at Whitehead & Aldrich but also by his wide range of clients.

Partner Jonathan Hughes-Deane said he will miss David's seemingly never ending enthusiasm for their work with their clients “David's enthusiasm was infectious. He was always keen to help, especially the younger members of the team, offering great advice drawing from his experience. He'll be missed.”

David's looking forward to his retirement with more time to support PNE, play tennis for St Annes devoting more time to walking his dog. He is also very much looking forward to being able to visit Cardiff more often to see his daughter and 2 grandchildren.

David said, “It will certainly be strange not coming to work each day after all these years, I'm going to miss the work, the team and my clients immensely. But I am also looking forward to having more time for other pursuits and time with the family. I'm hoping the team will allow me to pop in for a brew every now and again”

We wish David all the best in his retirement, and thank him for everything he has done for the firm.
